Being an organiser in previous conferences i came to consider one of the worst things an absent participant. Any board puts a lot of effort in it and it must be respected! But it is life and **** happens! At least i try to not be an idifferent one. So pls if you may of course, read this`when my presentation comes. Thank you
Dear Laura
Meetings of educators and teachers are always so very special. I Teach in a Department of Education in a Greek University and I think this global tribe that cares about teaching is a very special one. So I would like to ask you , and I am sure this is permitted, to read my sincere apologies to my colleagues for not being there. Is not a lack of interest nor a lack of respect. I do register and I would like to meet you all. But since for sudden health reasons I was ordered to avoid flying I would like to feel this gap in the program thanking you Laura, the NYCEA board and, most of all, reminding to our special tribe of teachers 2 quotes. Sydney Harris’s Quote: That the hole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows, (so very true if we would like to broaden human kind horizons and lingua franca of English can serve as a bridge) and Nelson Mandela’s quote: That Education is the most powerful weapon we have to change the World.
See you hopefully next year
With respect to NYCEA for its efforts and to each one of you
